DANCENERGY CHILD SAFE CODE OF CONDUCT 2026

Dancenergy studios will strive at all times to maintain our Child Safe Code of Conduct.

As such, Dancenergy will:

1. Aim to help benefit each individual student and help them achieve their goals we have set for them.

2. Employ quality teaching teachers with experience, knowledge and/or qualifications required for all ages and levels and students whilst maintaining correct technique.

3. Assess each child and make sure the student and parent has knowledge of this advice or has access to this information.

4. Endeavour to operate to sound business form with an efficient fee system

5. Make sure class sizes are suitable for the level and age and with proper technique being taught

6. Adhere to minimum space and safety requirements with suitable flooring to minimise injury.

7. Work cooperatively within a spirit of teamwork and mutual benefit.

8. Use flexible and effective teaching techniques to provide a productive, fun learning environment.

9. Have good concepts of movement for every style of dance taught.

10. Strive to develop self motivation and self discipline in each student.

11. Show professionalism including reliability, punctuality, and show responsible care of the students.

12. Support, encourage, and listen to each child.

13. Recognise that yelling or humiliating children is not acceptable and will treat each child with respect.

14. Aim to communicate a love of dance.

15. Recognise the role of dance as a development.

16. Develop each student’s potential, in dance or other fields and offer guidance to further progress.

17. Recognise physical variations, seeking medical advice where necessary.

18. Ensure choreography is anatomically safe.

19. Be prepared for medical emergencies ensuring at least one staff member holds a current first aid certificate.

20. Strive to further and develop the students appreciation of each style of dance and technique taught & take responsibility in furthering their knowledge in all aspects of their work.

21. Only take photographs / videos of students within scheduled lessons and performances and only when parental permission has been granted.

22. Only share and post photographs / videos of students on official Dancenergy social media channels where permitted by parents.

23. Only contact parents and students through official channels with information relating to changes to class or performance times and where parents have given permission for their child to be contacted or to both be contacted at the same time.

24. Recognise that teachers are accountable to follow the 10 child safe standards,

25. Adopt a zero tolerance of any breach of child safety standards.

10th November 2026, or earlier if there are any critical incidents.
